School delay

School delays in Massachusetts for Monday, Feb. 3

Several schools have delayed opening Monday after a fast-moving clipper system dropped snow throughout Massachusetts, mostly in Western Massachusetts, Sunday night into Monday morning.

Forecasters predicted a slow morning commute for parts of the state, warning of slick spots, especially on the side roads, “but with temperatures slowly climbing thanks to warm advection, most main roads will be wet,” the National Weather Service reported.
All Winter Weather Advisories were dropped as of 3:30 a.m. with the “back edge” of the snow moving off the coast, according to the National Weather Service.

A strong cold front is expected to move through the state late Monday night, according to the National Weather Service, with colder conditions coming Tuesday and Wednesday.
